About Eugene

After gaining my BSc in Osteopathy from the British School of Osteopathy in 1995, I came to New Zealand on my Big OE and have been working here ever since.

I use a wide range of gentle osteopathic techniques and am always happy to work as part of a team approach with other health professionals such as midwives, lactation consultants, physiotherapists, doctors, personal trainers, etc to help you achieve your best health outcomes.

Continuing my professional development is an important part of my work philosophy. I regularly attend courses to keep up with the latest in research and techniques for best practice.

I have a particular interest in working with newborns, expectant Mums, stress related issues, the elderly and mobility pre/post surgery.

It is a privilege and a joy to be able to help people make long term positive changes by addressing the underlying causes not just the symptoms.

When I'm not at work you can often find me walking the dog or fishing in the Hutt River, or just generally enjoying life with my wife and our four kids.

What to expect during your first treatment

At your first osteopathy appointment expect a thorough discussion of your health history and symptoms followed by a physical examination where we will go through a set of simple movements to assess your posture and mobility .Then a discussion of findings, tailored treatment plan and treatment and if appropriate some stretches/exercises for you to do at home.

Frequently asked questions

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a well-established form of manual therapy that has been practised since the 1870's. It focuses on the musculoskeletal system to diagnose and treat conditions, using hands-on techniques like massage, stretching and joint movement to improve health and wellness.

How can Osteopathy help me?

Osteopathy can help by relieving pain, improving mobility, blood flow and lymph drainage thus enhancing the body's natural ability to heal.

What is Structural Osteopathy?

Structural Osteopathy is a specialised approach that focuses on diagnosing and addressing musculoskeletal dysfunctions by restoring balance and function through techniques like joint mobilisation, muscle release, and soft tissue massage work.

What is Cranial Osteopathy?

Cranial Osteopathy is a specialised form of Osteopathy that uses gentle hands-on techniques to relieve compressions, strains and tension, improving the body's natural healing abilities and movement.

This gentle approach is suitable for all ages, though perhaps best known for treating newborns, children and expectant mothers.
